Pricing and feature details verified August 31, 2026, against HowdyGo's official pricing page (howdygo.com/product/pricing) as the primary source, plus its product pages and documentation (docs.howdygo.com). Monthly and annual billing are kept as separate figures and never mixed — and HowdyGo does not display exact annual dollar amounts, only a "Save 20%" toggle, so any annual per-month figure in this review is labeled as a derived estimate, not a published price. The Sandbox add-on price of roughly $99/month is third-party-reported, not published by HowdyGo. Third-party review scores are described as approximate where direct access to the review site was unavailable. Vendor marketing claims are labeled as vendor claims and are not treated as third-party evidence, and vendor-authored "HowdyGo review" or "HowdyGo alternatives" content — including posts by competitors — was excluded. SaaS Match Lab has not used HowdyGo hands-on — see Sources & Verification for how each claim was checked.
HowdyGo is an interactive product demo tool built around one idea: capture your product's real HTML and CSS with a Chrome extension, then layer a guided story on top. It is founder-run — three co-founders, bootstrapped, based in Sydney — and it prices by plan tier with unlimited seats, not per editor. This review works through what HowdyGo's own pages confirm, what is marketing language, and what third-party reviewers report, to answer one question with a specific shape: HowdyGo is a focused, founder-run HTML demo builder that wins on pricing structure and speed, not on breadth or enterprise depth.
Quick verdict
Good fit: HTML-first teams that want demos built on the product's real front end; teams with many occasional editors and viewers who would rack up per-seat fees elsewhere; small and mid-sized marketing teams that value a flat, published price and a fast, no-code capture workflow; and teams that want a founder-led support relationship rather than a ticket queue.
Probably not a fit: buyers who need a permanent free tier to evaluate or run demos; enterprises with governance-heavy procurement (SCIM, audit logs, RBAC, a public compliance posture); sales organizations that want account-level buyer or deal intelligence; marketing teams whose deliverable is an AI-generated product video; teams that want an autonomous, buyer-facing AI demo agent or an MCP integration; and anyone who needs to demo a desktop or other non-browser application.
Explore HowdyGoWhat Is HowdyGo?
HowdyGo is a B2B SaaS platform for building and sharing interactive product demos, aimed at product marketers, marketing leaders, sales and sales-engineering leaders, and customer success teams. Its core workflow — confirmed on its product pages and help center — is capturing a product with a Chrome extension (one click at a time), editing it in a no-code editor, and sharing it by link or embed.
HowdyGo's homepage headline is "Product demos for the whole customer journey." Its product surface, as described on its own site, includes:
- Interactive HTML demos — the core format: a guided, story-driven walkthrough built on a captured HTML/CSS clone of the product.
- Sandboxes — an open, free-roam version of the same idea, where a viewer clicks around without a set path. A paid add-on on the Pro and Enterprise plans.
- Collections — shareable hubs that bundle demos, videos, and other assets under one link.
- Howdy AI — a chat-based assistant for creating and editing demos, generating voiceovers, translating, and personalizing. Included on every plan.
- CLI Recorder — a separate tool for recording terminal / CLI / MCP sessions, not the primary web capture path (see Demo Formats).
HowdyGo's marketing cites outcomes such as "demo viewers are 1.7x more likely to sign up" and an average time to a first published demo of "less than 1 hour from signup." These are vendor claims from HowdyGo's site, not independently verified, and this review does not treat them as validated.
Two Things to Understand Before Comparing Prices
Two structural facts about HowdyGo's pricing matter more than any single feature.
Unlimited seats is the whole pitch
Every plan includes unlimited users, editors, and viewers
HowdyGo never charges per seat. Starter, Pro, and Enterprise all include unlimited users — you pay by plan tier, not by how many people build or watch demos. For a team of occasional editors and stakeholders who review demos, this is the single reason to look at HowdyGo instead of Storylane (+$40–$100 per seat), Arcade (per seat, up to 10 on Growth), or Supademo's per-creator Scale plan.
The jump from Starter to Pro is 2.5×, and it gates a lot
Most of the features buyers ask about live on Pro, not Starter
- Starter ($159/month) buys unlimited HTML demos, one collection, Howdy AI, lead capture, custom branding, annotations, chapters, and zoom/pan.
- Pro ($399/month) — a 2.5× step up — adds demo analytics, CRM integrations, the JS SDK, offline demos, password protection, a custom domain, unlimited collections, and eligibility for the Sandbox add-on.
If you need analytics, any CRM connection, or a sandbox, the real entry price is $399/month, not $159. Below that, HowdyGo is a demo builder with no engagement data.
HowdyGo Pricing
HowdyGo pricing
Starter
$159/ month (monthly billing)
~$127/ month (derived annual estimate)
HowdyGo's pricing page shows only a 'Save 20%' annual toggle — it does not display an exact annual dollar figure. ~$127 is $159 × 0.8 and is an estimate, not a published price.
- Unlimited users
- Unlimited HTML demos
- 1 collection
- Howdy AI
- Lead capture; CTAs & forms
- Custom branding; annotations; chapters; zoom/pan
- GIF & video export; embeds
Verified against howdygo.com/product/pricing, August 31, 2026.
Pro
$399/ month (monthly billing)
~$319/ month (derived annual estimate)
Again, only a 'Save 20%' toggle is shown; ~$319 is $399 × 0.8 and is an estimate. Some third-party aggregators list a stale ~$499 Pro price — see below.
- Everything in Starter, plus:
- Demo analytics
- CRM & analytics integrations
- HowdyGo JS SDK
- Offline demos; password protection; custom domain
- Unlimited collections
- Sandbox add-on eligibility (~$99/mo, third-party-reported)
- Hands-on onboarding for one team
Verified against howdygo.com/product/pricing, August 31, 2026.
Enterprise
Custom pricingcontact HowdyGo
- Everything in Pro, plus:
- Enterprise SSO (SAML) + SCIM
- Custom interactive components
- Feature-request priority
- Custom Howdy AI usage allowance
- Onboarding & training for multiple teams

Sandbox add-on
~$99/ month (third-party-reported)
Available on Pro and Enterprise only. HowdyGo's pricing page confirms the add-on exists and lists it as 'Unlimited sandboxes (Add-on)' but does NOT publish a price. The ~$99/month figure is consistent across independent write-ups but is not vendor-published.
- Unlimited sandboxes
- Requires Pro or Enterprise
- Isolated HTML/CSS replica environments
Add-on existence: howdygo.com/product/pricing. Price: third-party sources, not HowdyGo.
The annual price is a discount, not a published number
HowdyGo's pricing page has a monthly/annual toggle labeled "Save 20%." When you switch it, the page does not show a new dollar figure the way Guideflow or Storylane do — it just applies the discount at checkout. So the honest statement is: annual billing saves 20%; the exact annual dollar amount is not displayed publicly. A 20% discount implies roughly $127/month-equivalent for Starter and roughly $319/month-equivalent for Pro, but those are arithmetic, not quoted prices, and this review labels them as estimates everywhere they appear.
Ignore the stale $199 / $499 listings
Some directories (Capterra among them) list HowdyGo at $199/month and $499/month monthly, with annual figures of $1,908/year and $4,788/year. Those annual figures work out to exactly $159 and $399 per month — i.e. the directory is showing an old month-to-month rate alongside today's headline price mislabeled as "annual." HowdyGo's own current pricing page shows $159 and $399 with the monthly toggle selected. Treat the $199 / $499 numbers as stale third-party data, not a current plan.
No free plan
HowdyGo has no permanent free tier — only a 14-day free trial with full features (no credit card required, per the vendor and multiple third-party write-ups). One third-party review also reports that shared and embedded demo links stop working immediately when a subscription ends, with no grace period; HowdyGo does not state this on its own pages, so treat it as a single third-party observation to confirm directly before relying on HowdyGo for long-lived embeds.

Notes on the table:
- All figures are from HowdyGo's official pricing page, verified August 31, 2026.
- "Add-on" for Sandbox means the capability requires a paid add-on on top of the Pro or Enterprise plan price. HowdyGo lists it as "Unlimited sandboxes (Add-on)" without a published price.
- A dash means the capability is not listed on that plan on HowdyGo's pricing page — not that a workaround is impossible.
- HowdyGo's pricing page groups all CRM and analytics connectors under a single "CRM & analytics integrations" line on Pro; it does not gate individual integrations by tier on that page.
Demo Formats
Interactive HTML demos
The core format, on every plan, unlimited. HowdyGo's docs describe a demo as "a fully interactive clone of the HTML/CSS of your website, not just a series of static screenshots & videos." The Chrome extension captures a snapshot of the page's HTML, styles, images, fonts, and video on each click ("1 click = 1 step"), compresses them, and serves them from a CDN. Typed input and drag-and-drop can be recorded and replayed to a viewer. Text, images, and charts in the captured UI are editable after capture.
This is a captured HTML/CSS clone, not a live backend and not a live connection to the running product. A change to the real product UI means re-capturing the affected steps — a maintenance cost the whole HTML-capture category shares. HowdyGo's own documentation does not fully specify how captured demos behave across screen sizes, and one third-party review reports weak mobile support; this review does not assert responsive parity.
Sandboxes
HowdyGo's Sandbox is described on its product page as "fully isolated HTML/CSS replicas of your app that stay stable regardless of production changes." A viewer can move freely between screens and "click through your demo like it's the real product." HowdyGo frames the distinction as: HTML demos are guided and story-driven; sandboxes are "open, exploratory environments where sales reps or prospects can click around freely," for live sales calls and hands-on evaluation. Offline access to a sandbox is documented.
It is a captured, free-roam HTML/CSS replica — not a live backend. Some third-party write-ups describe the sandbox as "connecting to your product's API"; that contradicts HowdyGo's own "isolated HTML/CSS replica" wording, and this review follows the vendor's description. Sandbox is a paid add-on on Pro and Enterprise only — roughly $99/month per consistent third-party reporting, though HowdyGo does not publish the price.
Collections
Shareable hubs that bundle demos, videos, and other assets under one link. One collection on Starter; unlimited on Pro and Enterprise.
GIF and video export
Any demo can be exported as a GIF or MP4 for social media and embeds. This is an export of a captured demo, not a separate AI-video product.
CLI Recorder — a correction
HowdyGo markets a CLI Recorder, but it is not the primary web capture mechanism. Its own page describes it as a way to "record and share your terminal sessions" and "create an interactive, annotated demonstration of your CLI or MCP without burning tokens." The general web capture path is the Chrome extension. Some third-party descriptions blur this into "capture with a Chrome or CLI recorder" — for a normal web-app demo, it is the Chrome extension.
What HowdyGo does not offer
No screenshot-tour format, no video-recording format, no image-import demo builder, and no capture of desktop or other non-browser applications. If your product is not a web app running in Chrome, HowdyGo cannot capture it.
How HowdyGo Captures Demos
The capture flow, from HowdyGo's docs and product pages:
- Install the Chrome extension.
- Click through your product. "1 click = 1 step in the demo." Timing and mouse precision don't matter — each click captures the HTML/CSS state of the page.
- The extension uploads the captured steps; HowdyGo compresses and stores the HTML, styles, images, fonts, and video on a CDN.
- Edit in the no-code editor: add, duplicate, or remove steps; edit text, images, and charts in the captured UI; adjust scroll and click positions; add annotations, chapters, and zoom/pan.
- Share by link or embed, or export as GIF/MP4.
Third-party reviewers consistently praise the speed and low friction of this flow (first demo "in under an hour"), and consistently flag two rough edges: per-step editing can be slow on longer demos, and capture is occasionally unreliable on some pages (loading screens, in one report).
Editing
Confirmed on HowdyGo's product pages and docs:
- Add / duplicate / remove steps
- Edit text, images, and charts in the captured UI
- Adjust click and scroll positions
- Annotations (with reusable messaging)
- Chapters — let viewers jump to a section
- Zoom and pan to focus attention
- Custom branding of annotations and forms
- CTAs and lead-capture forms at any step
- Password protection and a custom domain (Pro+)
Not documented, and therefore not claimed here: advanced branching / persona paths, a dynamic-variable or logic engine, and a manual blur/redaction tool (sensitive-data handling is framed as an AI capability, not a manual editor tool). A team that needs heavily branched, conditional demo logic should confirm this directly with HowdyGo.
AI: Howdy AI
Howdy AI is included on every plan (Pro gets "5x usage" vs Starter; Enterprise gets a custom allowance). From HowdyGo's AI product page and docs, it can:
- Create and iterate on guided demos through a chat interface
- Auto-generate a demo, and auto-create sandboxes with automatic screen labeling and linking
- Write and refine annotations
- Generate audio voiceovers with synthetic voices
- Translate demos into multiple languages
- Personalize a demo to a prospect's pain points, reframe it by industry, and adjust tone
- Draft landing-page demo copy, social copy, and email announcements
HowdyGo states Howdy AI "never shares your data with model providers." Its earlier marketing also referenced automatic detection and removal of sensitive data; that was not reconfirmed on the current AI page for this review, so it is treated as a vendor claim to verify.
What Howdy AI is not: there are no AI avatars or talking-head presenter videos, no voice cloning, no AI text-to-video / auto-generated highlight video, no published MCP integration, and no autonomous, buyer-facing conversational demo agent. HowdyGo's AI is AI-assisted demo creation and content — a different category from Arcade-style AI video generation, a Supademo-style AI Demo Agent, or Storylane's buyer-facing RepX.
Analytics
Demo analytics are a Pro+ feature. From HowdyGo's docs, the metrics are:
- Impressions
- Engagement
- Progression through the demo, and completion
- CTA clicks
- Per-step data, which surfaces drop-off
Lead capture is built in on every plan; lead scoring based on viewing behavior, pushed to a CRM, is part of the Pro integration layer. Visitor identification is available via the JS SDK's identify call on Pro.
Not documented, and not claimed here: A/B testing, and account-level visitor de-anonymization (company identification from IP). If those matter, Storylane's Account Reveal and Navattic's account analytics are the reference points.
CRM and Integrations
HowdyGo's integrations page documents dedicated connectors for:
HubSpot and Salesforce (lead capture + viewing analytics), Attio (lead capture + analytics), Marketo (analytics + marketing automation), Twilio Segment, Google Analytics, Heap, FullStory (session recording + events), Zapier (lead capture + bulk personalized demos), and a Custom Webhook. Several connectors (GA, Segment, Marketo, Heap) work via an API key.
The HowdyGo JS SDK (Pro) covers visitor identification, personalization, modal embeds, player control, and tracking. HowdyGo's pricing page gates "CRM & analytics integrations" and the JS SDK to Pro.
Not documented, and not claimed here: native Slack, Microsoft Teams, Outreach, Gong, Salesloft, or Google Tag Manager integrations, and any MCP integration. The functional integration list is the one above.
Sales and GTM: What HowdyGo Is and Isn't
HowdyGo is primarily a marketing-led HTML demo builder that reaches lightly into presales. It has lead capture, lead scoring, CRM push, visitor identification via the SDK, and a sandbox format suited to live sales calls.
It does not have — on its own pages — account-level buyer intelligence, deal intelligence (demo engagement tied to CRM opportunities and pipeline), buyer/deal rooms, lead routing, or a rep-enablement layer. That is a real gap relative to two neighbors:
- Storylane builds demo creation into a full GTM stack: Account Reveal, Deal Intelligence, Buyer Hub, and the RepX buyer-facing agent.
- Navattic is HTML-first like HowdyGo, but with a more developed GTM orientation, plan-gated sales-tool integrations, a large public review base, and a SOC 2 Type II posture.
HowdyGo's advantage over both is structural, not functional: HTML on every plan, a flat published price, and unlimited seats.
Enterprise and Security
Confirmed on HowdyGo's pages and docs:
- SAML SSO and SCIM provisioning — Enterprise plan only. SSO supports "any SAML-based authentication provider like Okta, Google, Microsoft Entra"; SCIM is optional, configured on request, and syncs every 15 minutes. Organizations can disable other login methods.
- Custom interactive components and onboarding/training for multiple teams — Enterprise.
- Offline demos, password protection, and custom domains — Pro and above.
- A changelog on docs.howdygo.com spanning May 2024 to August 2026 (product version history, not per-demo revision history).
Unresolved — not documented either way, and therefore not claimed here: role-based access control, audit logs, data residency options, SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification (no compliance claim was found anywhere), a documented REST API (only the JS SDK and webhooks are documented), a published SLA, and a dedicated CSM beyond "hands-on onboarding." A team with hard requirements in any of these areas should confirm directly with HowdyGo; on current public evidence, enterprise governance is the weakest part of the product.
Official Product Demo
"How to make an interactive product demo with HowdyGo [2026]" — uploaded to youtube.com/@TBruining, the personal channel of HowdyGo co-founder Tom Bruining, confirmed via YouTube's oEmbed author attribution. It is a founder-made product walkthrough, not a video on a separate branded "@howdygo" channel. No third-party re-upload was used. Via YouTube.
Pros and Cons
On G2, HowdyGo shows a very high rating on a small sample — in the region of 5.0 out of 5 from roughly 30 reviews as of mid-2026 — but SaaS Match Lab could not load G2 directly to confirm the current score or count, so treat both as approximate. Capterra lists HowdyGo with no user reviews and stale pricing. Coverage on TrustRadius and Gartner Peer Insights is thin. The themes below are recurring signals across independent third-party write-ups, not one reviewer's opinion, and vendor-authored "HowdyGo review" or "HowdyGo alternatives" content — including posts by HowdyGo's competitors — was excluded.
HowdyGo
Pros
- Flat pricing with unlimited users, editors, and viewers on every plan — no per-seat math
- HTML/CSS demos on every plan, including the $159/month Starter tier — the lowest published entry price for real HTML fidelity in this set
- Fast, no-code Chrome-extension capture; third-party reviewers consistently report a first published demo in under an hour
- Founder-led support is a recurring point of praise
- Useful AI assistance for demo creation, annotations, voiceover, translation, and personalization, included on every plan
- Built-in lead capture on every plan, with lead scoring and CRM push on Pro
- Published, self-serve pricing for Starter and Pro — a contrast with Navattic's unpublished mid-tiers
Cons
- No permanent free plan — a 14-day trial only
- The Starter-to-Pro jump is 2.5× ($159 to $399/month), and analytics, CRM, custom domain, and Sandbox eligibility all live on Pro
- Sandbox is a paid add-on (~$99/month, third-party-reported) on top of the Pro price, not a bundled plan feature
- Smaller integration catalog — no native Slack, Teams, Outreach, Gong, or Salesloft; no MCP
- Thin enterprise governance evidence — SSO/SCIM are Enterprise-only, and RBAC, audit logs, and a SOC 2 posture are not documented
- No account-level or deal-level buyer intelligence
- No AI video generation, no AI avatars, and no autonomous buyer-facing demo agent
- Cannot capture desktop or other non-browser applications; one third-party review reports weak mobile support
Who Should Use HowdyGo?
- HTML-first teams that want demos built on the product's real front end, at the lowest published entry price for that fidelity
- Teams with many occasional editors and stakeholders who would accumulate per-seat charges on Storylane, Arcade, or Supademo's Scale plan
- Small and mid-sized marketing teams that want a flat, predictable, published monthly price
- Teams that value a fast no-code capture workflow and a founder-led support relationship
- Cost-conscious SMB and mid-market GTM teams that need lead capture and light presales support, not a full sales-intelligence platform
Who Should Not Use HowdyGo?
- Buyers who need a permanent free tier to evaluate or to run production demos — Supademo and Storylane have one; HowdyGo does not
- Enterprises with governance-heavy procurement: documented SCIM at a non-top tier, audit logs, granular RBAC, or a public SOC 2 / ISO 27001 posture
- Sales organizations that want account-level buyer intelligence or deal intelligence — Storylane and Navattic are more proven
- Marketing teams whose deliverable is an AI-generated product video — that is Arcade's job
- Teams that want an autonomous, buyer-facing AI demo agent or an MCP integration
- Teams that need to demo a desktop app, mobile-native app, or any non-browser product
HowdyGo vs Supademo
Both build interactive demos; they diverge on the free plan, formats, and where HTML and Sandbox sit. See our full Supademo review and Supademo alternatives guide. The Supademo figures below are summarized from that review and were not re-verified here.
| Category | HowdyGo | Supademo |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | HTML-FIRST HTML-first teams that want unlimited seats at a flat, published price | STARTUPS Startups, small teams, and solo creators who want the roomiest free plan and multi-format capture |
| Free plan | No free plan | 5 guided demos 50 recordings, unlimited views |
| Starting paid price | $159/mo Billed monthly$159/mo flat, unlimited seats (monthly billing) | $50/creator Billed monthly$50/creator/mo monthly; $38/creator/mo annually — Scale |
| HTML demos | AVAILABLE All plans, unlimited — from $159/mo | GROWTH Growth plan ($450/mo monthly, $350/mo annually) |
| Sandbox demos | PRO Pro plan add-on — ~$99/mo (third-party-reported; not published) | GROWTH Growth plan — bundled, same plan as HTML |
| AI | AI-assisted creation annotations, voiceover, translation, personalization; no avatars, no video generation, no agent | AI Demo Agent AI voice cloning, AI data editing, MCP (plan-dependent) |
| Seat model | Unlimited seats on every plan | Per creator on Scale ; 5 included on Growth, +$50/mo each |
Supademo wins on the free plan, multi-format capture, AI breadth, and a cheaper bundled sandbox. HowdyGo wins on flat unlimited-seat economics and HTML on the entry tier. For related economics, see Guideflow vs Supademo and the Storylane alternatives guide. No universal winner.
Choose HowdyGo over Supademo when…
- Per-seat or per-creator billing is the problem and you want one flat plan price
- You want HTML fidelity on the entry plan, not two tiers up
- A published, self-serve price for every tier you'd buy matters
Choose Supademo over HowdyGo when…
- You need a genuine free plan to evaluate or to run demos
- You want HTML and Sandbox bundled on one mid-tier plan
- You want a broader AI suite, including an AI Demo Agent and MCP, or multiple capture formats
HowdyGo vs Navattic
Both are HTML-first. They diverge on price transparency, the seat model, and enterprise maturity. See our full Navattic review and Navattic alternatives guide. The Navattic figures below are summarized from that review and were not re-verified here.
| Category | HowdyGo | Navattic |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | HTML-FIRST HTML-first teams that want a flat, published price and unlimited seats | HTML-FIRST Mid-market and larger GTM teams that want HTML-first demos with deeper sales infrastructure |
| Published pricing | Yes Starter $159/mo and Pro $399/mo shown on the pricing page | Only Free and Enterprise ; Startup, Base, and Growth are not shown on the current pricing page |
| HTML demos | AVAILABLE All plans, unlimited — from $159/mo | EVERY PAID PLAN Every paid plan, including the free Starter plan |
| Sandbox demos | PRO Pro plan add-on — ~$99/mo (third-party-reported; not published) | BASE Base plan and above |
| Seat model | Unlimited seats on every plan | A fixed seat count bundled per tier |
| Enterprise & compliance | SSO/SCIM Enterprise-only ; no documented SOC 2, RBAC, or audit logs | SOC 2 Type II ; large public review base; plan-gated sales-tool integrations |
HowdyGo is "Navattic's HTML-first idea at a published, flat, unlimited-seat price." Navattic is the more mature, GTM-oriented, enterprise-credible option — but you cannot see its mid-tier pricing without a sales call. No universal winner.
Choose HowdyGo over Navattic when…
- You want to know the price of the plan you'd actually buy before talking to sales
- Unlimited seats matter more than a bundled seat count
- The HTML-first use case is the whole requirement, without a GTM stack around it
Choose Navattic over HowdyGo when…
- A documented SOC 2 Type II posture and a large public track record are procurement requirements
- You want Sandbox as a plan feature rather than a paid add-on
- Plan-gated CRM and sales-tool integrations are part of the buying criteria
HowdyGo vs Storylane
HowdyGo is a flat-priced HTML demo builder; Storylane wraps demo creation in a sales and GTM layer. See our full Storylane review, the Storylane alternatives guide, and Supademo vs Storylane. The Storylane figures below are summarized from that review and were not re-verified here.
| Category | HowdyGo | Storylane |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | HTML-FIRST HTML-first teams that want flat pricing and unlimited seats | SALES & GTM Sales & GTM teams with a CRM-driven pipeline and buyer-intelligence needs |
| Seat model | Unlimited seats on every plan | Per seat — +$40/seat on Starter, +$100/seat on Growth |
| Starting paid price | $159/mo Billed monthly$159/mo flat (monthly billing) | $50/mo Billed monthly$50/mo monthly, $40/mo annually — Starter, per seat |
| HTML demos | AVAILABLE All plans, unlimited — from $159/mo | GROWTH Growth plan ($625/mo monthly, $500/mo annually) |
| Sandbox demos | PRO Pro plan add-on — ~$99/mo (third-party-reported; not published) | ENTERPRISE Enterprise plan only |
| Buyer / deal intelligence | Lead capture and lead scoring ; no account or deal intelligence | Account Reveal, Deal Intelligence, Buyer Hub, RepX |
HowdyGo is the direct structural answer to "Storylane's per-seat billing and Growth-tier HTML gate don't fit us." Storylane wins the moment account identification, deal intelligence, or buyer rooms are a real requirement. No universal winner.
Choose HowdyGo over Storylane when…
- Per-seat billing is the specific problem you're solving
- You want HTML demos on the entry plan, not gated to a $500–$625/month tier
- You don't need a sales-intelligence layer enough to pay for one
Choose Storylane over HowdyGo when…
- Account identification, deal intelligence, and buyer rooms are core to the workflow
- You want a deep, plan-gated CRM and sales-tool ecosystem
- A large public review base and a stated SOC 2 posture are requirements
HowdyGo vs Guideflow
Guideflow's cheapest tier is far below HowdyGo's, but its HTML and Sandbox tiers are far above. See our full Guideflow review and Guideflow vs Supademo. The Guideflow figures below are summarized from that review and were not re-verified here.
| Category | HowdyGo | Guideflow |

Guideflow wins if guided walkthroughs at the $40 tier are genuinely all you need. Once HTML or a sandbox is required, HowdyGo is dramatically cheaper — roughly $159 vs $499–$599/month for HTML, and roughly $498 vs $1,499–$1,799/month for a sandbox. No universal winner.
Choose HowdyGo over Guideflow when…
- You need HTML fidelity or a sandbox, and Guideflow's four-figure gates for those are the problem
- Unlimited seats matter more than a low headline entry price
- The demo needs to feel like the real product's front end
Choose Guideflow over HowdyGo when…
- Guided screenshot and mobile walkthroughs at the lowest possible price are the whole job
- You want AI avatars, voice cloning, or 100+-language localization
- A free plan for evaluation is required
HowdyGo vs Arcade
Arcade turns a capture into a demo and an AI-generated product video and social visuals; HowdyGo is an HTML demo tool without the video studio. See our full Arcade review and Arcade alternatives guide.
| Category | HowdyGo | Arcade |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | HTML-FIRST HTML-first teams that want unlimited seats at a flat price | MARKETING Marketing-led teams whose deliverable is shareable video and visual content |
| HTML demos | AVAILABLE All plans, unlimited — demos are a captured HTML/CSS clone | NOT OFFERED Not offered — step-based capture, not a live HTML clone |
| Starting paid price | $159/mo $159/mo flat, unlimited seats | $50/seat Billed monthly$50/seat/mo monthly, $42.50/seat/mo annually — Growth, up to 10 seats |
| AI video | AI voiceover only no auto-generated video, no avatars | Generates a product video and on-brand social visuals from one capture |
| Sandbox demos | PRO Pro plan add-on — ~$99/mo (third-party-reported) | NOT OFFERED Not offered |
| Seat model | Unlimited seats on every plan | Per seat, up to 10 on Growth |
HowdyGo wins on HTML fidelity, flat unlimited-seat pricing, and a sandbox format. Arcade wins when the output has to be video and marketing content. No universal winner.
Choose HowdyGo over Arcade when…
- The demo has to be built on the product's real HTML with real interactions
- You want a free-roam sandbox format
- Per-seat pricing for every builder is the problem
Choose Arcade over HowdyGo when…
- The deliverable is an AI-generated product video or on-brand social visuals
- A polished, directed step-based rendition is enough — you don't need real HTML
- You want a (thin) free tier to start
Price Economics
All figures are USD list prices, before tax and before negotiation. HowdyGo's plan price is flat regardless of team size. Competitor figures are summarized from SaaS Match Lab's own reviews and were not re-verified here; Navattic's mid-tier prices are unconfirmed blog figures. A cheaper plan that reaches "HTML" or "Sandbox" is not the same product — always check the feature gap, not just the price.
Cost for 1, 5, and 10 creators (HTML-capable plan, monthly billing)
| Creators | HowdyGo | Supademo | Storylane | Guideflow | Arcade |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $159 or $399 Starter or Pro | $450 Growth | $625 Growth | $599 Startup / Growth | $50 Growth Not HTML-capable |
| 5 | $159 / $399 flat Flat price | $450 5 creators incl. | $625 per-seat rules apply | $599 10 incl. | $250 no HTML Not HTML-capable |
| 10 | $159 / $399 flat Flat price | $700 $450 + 5 × $50 | ~$1,125–$1,500 Growth + seats, or Premium | $599 10 incl. | $500 no HTML Not HTML-capable |
HowdyGo's flat line is the point: the price does not move with headcount. The trade is no free plan and a smaller feature set at the low end.
Cheapest published path to HTML demos
| Tool | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|
| HowdyGo | $159 Starter, every plan Published | ~$127 Derived derived; not published |
| Navattic | ~$125 paid entry — HTML on every plan incl. free Unconfirmed | Not published |
| Supademo | $450 Growth Published | $350 Growth Published |
| Guideflow | $599 Startup / Growth Published | $499 Growth Published |
| Storylane | $625 Growth Published | $500 Growth Published |
Cheapest published path to a sandbox
| Tool | Monthly | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Supademo | $450 Growth $350annual Published | Bundled Sandbox bundled with HTML on Growth |
| HowdyGo | ~$498 $399 Pro + ~$99 add-on Third-party reported | Add-on price is third-party-reported, not published |
| Navattic | ~$500 Base tier Unconfirmed | Sandbox from the Base tier |
| Guideflow | $1,799 Advanced $1,499annual Published | Published, but four figures |
| Storylane | Enterprise only custom Custom | Most expensive to unlock in this set |
Assumptions: annual figures are used where the vendor publishes them; HowdyGo's annual figure and the ~$99 Sandbox add-on are derived or third-party-reported, not published by HowdyGo. Storylane's 10-seat figure depends on whether you add seats to Growth or move to Premium. Arcade has no HTML or Sandbox format at any published tier.
Is HowdyGo Worth It?
It depends on whether HTML access and editor seats are your two biggest cost drivers.
Worth it if: HTML fidelity is the core requirement, many people need editor access, a flat published price matters, and you don't need a sales-intelligence layer or a hard enterprise-compliance guarantee. For that team, HowdyGo is the cheapest published route to real HTML demos, and the unlimited-seat model removes a cost that scales badly elsewhere.
Less compelling if: you only need simple screenshot or video demos, you need a generous free tier, you need deep sales and GTM tooling, you need AI video generation or an autonomous demo agent, or you need documented enterprise governance.
The line to keep in mind: HowdyGo is inexpensive where it matters most for its target user — HTML access and editor seats — but it is not a cheap all-purpose replacement for Storylane or Navattic.
Final Verdict
HowdyGo is a focused, founder-run HTML demo builder that competes on pricing structure and speed. On its own terms — HTML on every plan, unlimited seats, a flat published price, a fast capture workflow — it is a strong, credible choice, and the most direct answer in this category to a per-seat billing problem. It is a weaker choice the moment enterprise governance, buyer intelligence, AI video, or a free plan becomes a requirement, and those gaps are real rather than cosmetic.
- Choose HowdyGo if flat pricing, unlimited seats, HTML on every plan, published pricing, and fast setup are the priorities.
- Choose Supademo if you want a genuine free plan, broader demo formats, HTML plus Sandbox on one mid-tier plan, and a wider AI suite including an AI Demo Agent and MCP.
- Choose Navattic if you want HTML-first demos with deeper GTM infrastructure and a documented SOC 2 Type II posture.
- Choose Storylane if account identification, deal intelligence, buyer rooms, and a CRM-driven sales workflow are the priority.
- Choose Arcade if the deliverable is an AI-generated product video or on-brand social visuals.
- Choose Guideflow if cheap guided walkthroughs, product tours, and onboarding are the main job and you want the lowest headline entry price.
In every case, confirm current pricing and plan gating directly with the vendor before committing — plans and prices change, and the figures here reflect August 31, 2026.

- Pricing and plan gating were checked against HowdyGo's official pricing page (howdygo.com/product/pricing), fetched August 31, 2026. Monthly figures — Starter $159/month, Pro $399/month, Enterprise custom — are taken directly from that page with the monthly toggle selected. The annual toggle is labeled "Save 20%" and does not display a dollar amount; the ~$127 and ~$319 per-month figures in this review are arithmetic estimates ($159 × 0.8 and $399 × 0.8), explicitly labeled as derived, not published. Directory listings of $199 / $499 monthly (and $1,908 / $4,788 annual) are stale third-party data and are described as such — HowdyGo's own page shows $159 / $399.
- Plan contents (Starter: unlimited users, unlimited HTML demos, 1 collection, Howdy AI, lead capture, custom branding, annotations, chapters, zoom/pan, GIF/video export, embeds, chat support, recorded webcam bubbles. Pro: all of Starter plus demo analytics, CRM & analytics integrations, HowdyGo JS SDK, offline demos, password protection, custom domain, unlimited collections, "Unlimited sandboxes (Add-on)," hands-on onboarding for one team. Enterprise: all of Pro plus Enterprise SSO (SAML/SCIM), custom interactive components, feature-request priority, custom Howdy AI usage, onboarding/training for multiple teams) are quoted from HowdyGo's pricing page.
- The Sandbox add-on is confirmed to exist on HowdyGo's pricing page ("Unlimited sandboxes (Add-on)," Pro and Enterprise only), but no price is published there. The ~$99/month figure is consistent across independent third-party write-ups and is labeled throughout this review as third-party-reported, not vendor-published. HowdyGo's Sandbox product page describes sandboxes as "fully isolated HTML/CSS replicas of your app"; where third-party sources describe them as connecting to a product API, this review follows the vendor's own "isolated HTML/CSS replica" wording.
- Capture and HTML behavior (Chrome extension; "1 click = 1 step"; "a fully interactive clone of the HTML/CSS of your website"; assets compressed and served from a CDN; typed input and drag-and-drop replayed; text/images/charts editable after capture; UI changes require re-capture) are from HowdyGo's product pages and docs.howdygo.com. The CLI Recorder is described by HowdyGo as a tool for recording terminal / CLI / MCP sessions, not general web capture, and this review corrects the common "Chrome or CLI recorder" phrasing accordingly. HowdyGo's docs do not fully specify responsive/mobile behavior of captured demos; one third-party review reports weak mobile support, and this review does not assert responsive parity. HowdyGo does not document capture of desktop or non-browser applications.
- Editing features (add/duplicate/remove steps, edit text/images/charts, adjust click and scroll positions, annotations, chapters, zoom/pan, custom branding, CTAs and lead forms, password protection and custom domain on Pro+) are from HowdyGo's product pages and docs. Advanced branching, a dynamic-variable/logic engine, and a manual blur/redaction tool are not documented and are not claimed here.
- AI features (chat-based demo creation and iteration, AI demo generation, auto-created sandboxes with automatic screen labeling/linking, annotation writing, synthetic-voice voiceover, translation into multiple languages, personalization by prospect pain point / industry / tone, and landing-page/social/email copy) are from HowdyGo's AI product page and docs; HowdyGo states Howdy AI "never shares your data with model providers." AI avatars, voice cloning, AI text-to-video, an MCP integration, and an autonomous buyer-facing demo agent are not documented and are not claimed here. HowdyGo's earlier reference to automatic sensitive-data detection/removal was not reconfirmed on the current AI page and is treated as a vendor claim to verify.
- Analytics (impressions, engagement, progression, completion, CTA clicks, per-step data surfacing drop-off; lead capture on every plan; lead scoring and CRM push on Pro; visitor identification via the JS SDK
identifycall on Pro) are from docs.howdygo.com. Demo analytics are a Pro+ feature per the pricing page. A/B testing and account-level visitor de-anonymization are not documented and are not claimed here. - Integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce, Attio, Marketo, Twilio Segment, Google Analytics, Heap, FullStory, Zapier, Custom Webhook) are from HowdyGo's integrations page; the pricing page gates "CRM & analytics integrations" and the JS SDK to Pro. Native Slack, Microsoft Teams, Outreach, Gong, Salesloft, and Google Tag Manager integrations, and any MCP integration, are not documented and are not claimed here.
- Enterprise and security (SAML SSO supporting "any SAML-based authentication provider like Okta, Google, Microsoft Entra," plus SCIM configured on request with 15-minute sync — Enterprise plan only; custom interactive components and multi-team training on Enterprise; offline demos, password protection, and custom domains on Pro+; a product changelog on docs.howdygo.com spanning May 2024 to August 2026) are from HowdyGo's pricing page and docs. RBAC, audit logs, data residency options, SOC 2 / ISO 27001 certification, a documented REST API, a published SLA, and a dedicated CSM are not documented on HowdyGo's public pages and are treated as unresolved, not assumed.
- The official product video is "How to make an interactive product demo with HowdyGo [2026]" (youtube.com/watch?v=3nxtL0f_pK4). YouTube's oEmbed author attribution resolves it — and HowdyGo's other short-form video content — to youtube.com/@TBruining, the personal channel of HowdyGo co-founder Tom Bruining, not a separate branded "@howdygo" channel. It is used here as a founder-made product walkthrough with that attribution stated in the caption. No third-party re-upload was used, and no screenshots were scraped — no public HowdyGo press or media kit with clear reuse rights was found.
- Third-party review signals are drawn from independent write-ups and directory listings. G2 could not be loaded directly, so HowdyGo's rating is given as an approximate ~5.0/5 from roughly 30 reviews rather than an exact figure; Capterra lists HowdyGo with no user reviews and stale pricing; TrustRadius and Gartner Peer Insights coverage is thin. Recurring positive themes (fast setup, intuitive editor, founder support, flat pricing, unlimited seats, HTML fidelity, built-in lead capture) and negative themes (no free plan, the Starter-to-Pro jump, slow per-step editing, occasional capture-reliability issues, weak mobile, smaller integration catalog, thin AI versus autonomous-agent products, no non-browser capture, Sandbox as an extra cost, and a single report that demo links break immediately on cancellation) are described as recurring signals, not measured reasons anyone switched. Vendor-authored "HowdyGo review" and "HowdyGo alternatives" content — including posts by HowdyGo's competitors — was not treated as independent third-party evidence.
