Our Methodology

This page explains how we put together reviews, comparisons, and alternatives articles on SaaS Match Lab. We're an independent site, and our process leans heavily on public information rather than exclusive access, so we try to be specific about where each claim in an article actually comes from.

1. Vendor research

For every product we cover, we start with the vendor's own official website, official pricing page, and official documentation. Feature lists, plan tiers, and stated positioning in our articles are grounded in what the vendor publishes.

2. Independent source research

We also look at independent sources — third-party review platforms like G2, and comparison articles from other sites — to see how the product is discussed outside of its own marketing. Where we reference user opinions from these sources, we treat them as individual opinions, not as facts about every user's experience.

3. Pricing verification

Where possible, we confirm pricing directly against the vendor's official pricing page. Because SaaS pricing changes often, each article shows the date pricing was last verified — always check the vendor's current page before you buy.

4. First-hand testing

When we've personally used a product, we say so directly in the article. When we haven't, we say that too — for example, by noting that a product is “not independently tested.” We don't describe a product as something “we tested” or use language like “our experience” unless we actually used it ourselves.

5. Unverified information

If we can't independently verify a detail — a feature claim, a pricing detail, or something reported secondhand — we don't fill the gap with a guess. Where it matters, we label the information as not independently verified rather than presenting it as confirmed fact.

6. Comparisons

Our comparison and alternatives articles aren't built around declaring a single winner. Instead, we try to explain which tool tends to fit better for a given use case, budget, or team size, since the right choice usually depends on what you actually need.

7. Updates

Pricing and features change after we publish. Each article displays the date it was last verified, and we revisit articles over time to keep them current — but the date shown is always the most reliable indicator of how recent the information is.
